June 30, 2016

Oh Canada!

Flip the calendar, school is over, fireworks will light up the sky and summer officially begins.

With a full slate of events in Barrie, Erin Corcoran Re/Max Chay Reality Inc. Sales Representative and enthusiastic owner operator of Barrie’s Simcoe County Shop Local and I are pleased to share Local Listings; What’s happening in Barrie for July as part of our Barrie Through the Seasons collaboration.

Barrie throws a beautiful party on July 1st; the festivities take part in our downtown and along the waterfront. The streetscape becomes a pedestrian paradise, rolling right into Promenade Days, with music on the stage starting at 4 p.m. Don’t miss the official cake cutting at 6 p.m., as Cakes by Design creates a themed masterpiece that is almost too pretty to eat!

From cake to BBQ chicken, ribs and craft beer, it’s all here! The annual Craft Beer and BBQ festival rolls into downtown Barrie for the weekend of July 8-10th, bringing the heady scent of smokin’ coals and spicy sauces to whet your appetite.

Barrie’s cultural scene is rich and inviting all year round, but there is something magical about summer theatre that draws crowds. Theater by the Bay is presenting the Goethe classic Faust, and from what I have read it is a must see production.

Barrielicious makes summer taste great! Running July 8-24th, this twice yearly food festival invites guests to support local restaurants, enjoy prix fixe full course meals and explore new flavours from notable Barrie chefs and rising stars in the restaurant scene. This is a great opportunity to flavour your summer, patio surf and stay out of your kitchen!
